Faith Khanyile

Chair Lady Seed Engine / Non-Executive Chairperson WDB Growth Fund

Faith is the CEO and Director of WDBIH. Faith has been associated with WDBIH for over 20 years, as one of its founding members and a non-executive director.

Faith has extensive experience in financial services, corporate and investment banking, strategy development and leadership. She spent 12 years in Senior and Executive positions with Standard Bank, Corporate & Investment Bank (“CIB”) from 2001 to 2013 her last position being Head of Corporate Banking. Faith serves on the Board of Discovery Limited, Safari RSA Limited, Transcend Residential and Seed Engine.

Faith completed her BA Economics degree with Honours at Wheaton College and MBA (Finance) from Bentley Graduate School of Business. She also participated at Columbia University (New York) Executive Leadership Programme in the latter part of 2007.

Donna Rachelson

Non-Executive Director & Seed Group Chief Executive Officer

Donna Rachelson is Group CEO of Seed Engine incorporating Seed Academy and the WDB Seed Fund. Donna is a seasoned entrepreneur, branding and marketing specialist, author speaker and is passionate about the development and advancement of women and entrepreneurs.

Donna has extensive experience in marketing, strategy and leadership; having held a number of marketing director positions in organisations including Nando’s and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants as well as marketing management positions at Standard Bank and AECI. She has garnered entrepreneurial experience through founding & running her own business, Branding & Marketing YOU and investing in a number of startups.

Donna has a solid business education, including an MBA and has been a guest lecturer at GIBS and Yale. Donna is the author of 3 best-selling books and is regularly called on by the media and industry to speak on issues relating to the development of women entrepreneurs.

Malcolm Segal

Non-Executive Director and Member of the Investment Committee – Seed Engine & WDB Growth Fund

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Malcolm practised as a partner of Grant Thornton (Chartered Accountant and Business Advisors) and was elected Managing partner of the Johannesburg office in 1986 and National Executive Chairman in 1989.

Malcolm established a private equity investment fund in 1997 which he managed until acquired by Sasfin Holdings Limited in 2005. In February 2012, Malcolm resigned from the boards of both Sasfin Holdings Limited and Sasfin Bank Limited to enable him to pursue his passion – entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial funding activities.

Malcolm currently sits on the boards of various companies in which he holds a private equity investment and, inter alia, is also an External Member of the Special Credit Committee of the IDC (Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa Limited) and a member of the Listings Advisory Committee of AltX (Alternate Exchange of the Johannesburg Securities Exchange).

Malcolm is the Chairman of VCMS.

Dr Isaac Oupa Monamodi

Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Investment Committee – WDB Seed Fund

Dr. Isaac Oupa Monamodi is the Chairman of both 4Way Industrial (Pty) Ltd and Logato Investment Holding (Pty) Ltd. He is also the Non-Executive Chairman of WPP Protea Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd and Tshimedzwa Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd, and the Chairman of the WPP Group BEE Trust, the Smollan Group BEE Trust, and the Smollan Diversity Forum.

Dr. Monamodi has extensive Executive and General Management experience gained in Academia, the Gaming Industry and the Information Technology Industry in South Africa and the USA.

Thandie Mashego

Non- Executive Director and member of the Investment Committtee – WDB Seed Fund

Thandie is the Chief Financial Officer and Director of WDBIH, responsible for overall financial and risk management of the Group. She is also involved in transaction execution and investment monitoring.

Prior to joining WDBIH, Thandie spent 2 years as Group Chief Financial Officer of Vantage Capital Group, a Private Equity Fund Manager, where she was responsible for financial management, portfolio reporting, risk management, and compliance. She also spent 11 years at the Industrial Development Corporation (“IDC”) in various roles, where she led a number of project and corporate finance transactions. In her last 5 years at the IDC, Thandie was responsible for the management of IDC’s private equity and loan investment portfolio in several sectors.

Thandie holds B.Com and B.Com Honours degrees from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (formerly University of Natal) and a Masters degree in Business Leadership (MBL) from the University of South Africa. She qualified as a CA (SA) in 2003 after completing articles at KPMG and Transnet Group Limited.
